The combined working quality of the extruder screw and barrel has an important impact on the plasticization of materials, product quality and production efficiency. The quality of their work is related to the manufacturing accuracy and assembly gap of the two parts. When the two parts are severely worn and the output of the extruder is reduced, maintenance of the screw and barrel of the screw extruder should be arranged.

Causes of the damage of the screw and barrel of the screw extruder 1. The screw of the screw extruder rotates in the barrel, and the friction between the material and the two causes the working surface of the screw and barrel to gradually wear: the screw diameter gradually decreases, and the machine The diameter of the inner hole of the cylinder gradually increases. In this way, the clearance between the diameter of the screw and the barrel is gradually increased as the two gradually wear. However, because the resistance of the nose and the diverter plate in front of the barrel has not changed, this increases the residual amount of the extruded material when it is advanced, that is, the amount of material flowing from the diameter gap to the feeding direction increases. As a result, the extruder throughput is reduced. This phenomenon in turn increases the residence time of the material in the barrel and causes the material to decompose. In the case of polyethylene, the hydrogen chloride produced by the decomposition strengthens the corrosion of the screw and barrel. 2. If there are fillers such as calcium carbonate and glass fiber in the material, it can accelerate the wear of the screw and barrel of the screw extruder. 3. Because the material is not plasticized uniformly, or metal foreign matter is mixed into the material, the screw torque of the screw extruder suddenly increases, and this torque force exceeds the strength limit of the screw, causing the screw to break.
